If you know us at all, you know we love traveling, especially when we do it together. Somewhere along the way in 2025, a new presence joined the rhythm – small, steady, and not so long ago welcomed into our arms. Come September, we decided to return to the familiar comfort of moving through the world. But this time, we packed a little slower, with the tiniest socks tucked between our clothes that somehow mattered more than anything else.
Where the Days Began Softly
Before, our mornings were always full with packed itineraries and quick (but large) breakfasts as the day rushed in. I am not an early riser, but Fai rarely lets me do slow mornings when we travel. However, this time, the days opened differently. Our mornings lingered, and we let the world still wait outside.
Moving Through the Cities
In Bangkok, the city buzzed beneath us as we wandered through the skywalks. In Phuket, we moved to the rhythm of the sea. The stroller came along, mostly acting as a very dignified storage trolley, while the real journey unfolded with him tucked close to me in our carrier – heart to heart, step by step. Somewhere between long strolls, Phuket slowed us down in a way cities never quite do. It reminded us how quickly we tire of busy streets and how we gravitate toward nature every time we travel. And through it all, he was endlessly curious – watching the world move around him…with him.
Dinner, Twice
Dinners were different. It started earlier and moved faster, usually with him on our laps while we ate in shifts. After the day wound down and he slipped into sleep, phase two of our dinner began. We ordered in, and this time, lights low and our conversations quieter. And here, we discovered a kind of evening that linger long after the meal ends.
Among People We Love
Somewhere between wandering streets and so many meals, one of the most special moments of the trip unfolded. My best friend and her husband met him for the very first time. Watching someone who knows you so well meet someone so new felt like my worlds collided in the very best way. Bangkok held that moment for us, turning an ordinary day into one we will carry forever.
A New Rhythm
Thailand met us where we were, and held more color than ever. And as we moved from city lights to island breeze, we realised that trips don’t need to be extravagant to feel extraordinary. Sometimes, all it takes is a tiny pair of eyes seeing the outside world for the very first time.
